- NEW BUSINESS:
- Pat Strosahl was supposed to speak regarding availability of The Seasons performance facility for student performances. But he was a no-show.
- Bart Roderick discussed Solo and Ensemble this season. The date for the Contest is Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at the CWU Music Building.
- Discussion items:
- The new State rule disallowing adjudicators to judge regional contest if they are judging their own private students or their own children and requiring adjudicators to be experts in the category judged was discussed. This rule will cause us to go out of our region to find adjudicators. Travel and room/board expenses will cause our expenses to escalate greatly.
- We are overflowing the CWU Music Facility with our contest. We discussed several options of how to alleviate this problem, but good old Dr. Gerheartstein recommended that we simply rent more rooms in the adjacent Art Building for more room. So that’s what we’re going to do. It will probably cost us $1000 more.
- WE SANG “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” IN 8 PART HARMONY TO A TABLE ACROSS THE RESTAURANT. IT WAS AWESOME.
- There are lots of other things that happened and were discussed during this meeting, but if I didn’t include them it’s because
- I’m tired of typing up these minutes and
- You should have been there yourself.
Respecfully submitted
Bart Roderick, YVMEA Secretary
