Welcome and Introductions

• Intro; Ron Handed out a sheet of three questions. Went around the room, introduced ourselves, and answered the questions.
  

$4552.45 in account. Owed Dan Ray for last year's Small School Festival. Owe Ted Brown $313.77 for replacement of Cymbal and Cymbal Stand stolen from last year's High School Band Competition. $110.79 to WV--sub cost during MS Band Competition. Current Balance: $4027.89

H.S. & M.S. Instrumental Band Competitions Dates. More people attending this meeting compared to the May meeting. Site problems, date problems, etc... was tabled to the end of the meeting. -- Directors will go back to principals to investigate possible changes.

Site hosts needed for MS Choir and MS Band Competition/Adjudications - Tabled to the end. Choir host will be pursued with principals. MS instrumental date is being revisited. Yakima Schools are REQUIRED to perform in the morning while other districts will follow.

Nominations for Friend of Music and Educator of the Year. Directors need to nominate people to Ron Gerhardstein with your recommendations. Board will select soon.

Fee Structure for 07-08 YVMEA Events: Funding needs to be raised to break even at large group events. Maegan moved that we increase fee to $120 per group. Ruth Seconded. all voted. Motion Carried.

Regional Breakfast at the 2008 State convention with the CBMEA. More information will be e-mailed to all people.

Young Musicians Excelling campaign. Ms. Ley moved we give $500 as in past years. Kathleen K seconded. Vote. Motion carried.

Michael Brant - Elementary Inservice October 13 in Zillah wil Linda Honn and Karen Baldwin. Fliers will soon be sent. Free--5 clock hours to WMEA members.
