Fees must be submitted in a timely manner. All events but Solo/Ensemble went in the hole this year. We need to consider raising fees to FULLY cover all costs. We need to have the same contracts for judges. Fall meeting will discuss all costs. We have too much variability between events. Events site managers vary, so make sure your district sends PO & Check to the PROPER address. A late fee for

New Business:

  • Due to increase costs, we discussed festival costs. The only event not losing money is the Regional Solo & Ensemble. All other events lost money; some lost over $600. It's proposed, but not acted upon, to raise event costs per group. Adjudication costs, due to fuel / mileage , have increased about ¢10 per mile, plus hotel costs for judges coming great distances. The Yakima Region's event fees are lower than other regions. As of TODAY'S DATE, some of our regional schools have not paid their competition fees. A dicision needs to be made to be fiscally responsible. We can not having festivals in the hole.
  • It was proposed to request "NO P.O.'s" - checks only.
  • Discussion on both topics will be discussed at a later date. However, decisions need to be made soon.
