Identifying new teachers in our YVMEA region - Do you know of any new teachers within our region? Let us know. Contact them and make them feel welcome. If they could use more contact, e-mail Ron G.

Membership in WMEA - All teachers need to be WMEA members. Join now
 
D.

Regional Representation in WMEA - Many from Central Washington are on the State Board. Mark Lane, Chris Bruya, Peter Gries, and Mark Claassen. If you have issues, they are near by and contact them. Go to YVMEA.ORG and go to the CWU link to contact them.

CBPA are coming in 2008 year. Talk with Dave Weatherred.

YME - Young Musicians Excelling - funding source to help suppliment costs for all state groups. Consider contributing to this. Even $15.

Gift (Rebate) to YVMEA from WMEA - is giving back a rebate and we received $179. It could be for inservice, new teacher assistance, etc. How can we spend this money.

Advocacy for Music and the Arts - YVMEA, MENC web site has great resources. Great teachers in our state

Set Date for spring YVMEA meeting - May 15: Location will be announced. 5:30 Officers; 6:00 General
 
 
  2. Treasurer's Reports We have nearly $5,000 and we just received $700 for unclaimed monies. We now have $4953.56
A couple of events lost money. We also bounced two checks to two judges due to late P.O.s. - No P.O.
  3. New Business
  • Move that YVMEA donate $500 to YVE (Megan Goranson), Second (Rich Rees); Voted and passed.
  • Schools or parent groups can join WMEA for $135. Students wave fees for all state, all northwest
  • Bart - this year's solo ensemble should be online based. Bill Beam is in charge of judges. Email Bart with adjudicator; someone within 180 miles.

  4. Announcements
  • Send Ron G. about what is going on in your program for VOICE MAG
  • All State Honor information- is online. If you can't download it, contact Gayla at the WMEA office.
  • Ray Wheeler - Had a heart attack 9/10 and is the hospital.
  • Mary Steiner, state representative, was going to come to our YVMEA meeting but was unable to come.
  • Megan and Scott have an excused absence at the winter meeting; She is having a baby.
  • Ron G is getting married in November.
