President Ed Cunnington opened the meeting.

Discussion of Officer Elections for next 2 Years of YVMEA
     Interested People on Ballots
     - Those interested voted on

    New Officers:
     Pres. Elect:  Ron Gerhardstein
     Treasurer:  Rich Rees
     Secretary:  Kathleen Kiesel-Nield
     President:  Scott and Megan Goranson
     Past President:  Ed Cunnington
    Note:  Bylaws say nothing on voting.
         Doug Kilgore moved that we accept all nominations
         Jeremy Friese seconded motion
         Vote passed
         New officers elected

Banners:
     We don’t have them this year because no one took care of it.
     Who took care of them last year?
     Megan found out that the banners were done by Rutherford PR at a  cost of $699.40 last year.
     Some one needs to get in and get these taken care of for this year.
     Suggestion for adding a fee to contest fees for banners.

Events for 2003-2004 School Year
Solo and Ensemble:
     February 7th, Saturday
     Site:  CWU
     All Information/Registration Due:  January 7
     Chair:Bart Roderick will be the chairperson in charge of organizing  facilities and
    door/room monitors.
     Jeremy Friese will recruit adjudicators.  Please send him  suggestions for adjudicators
     Mrs. Connely from Ellensburg will create data base of entrants.

Choral Bash:
     October 23 - Thursday, 7 PM
     South Choral Bash in Sunnyside chaired by Charlene Sleater
     North Choral Bash in Selah chaired by Bart Roderick

Regional Honor Band and Choir:
     Tabled for next year
      Suggested to have it alternate years with All-State
     Motion by Kari Giorgi, Seconded by Don May
     We will bring it up for discussion next spring

WMEA State Convention in Yakima:
     February 13-16, 2004
     Yakima Convention Center

Middle School/Jr. High Instrumental Contest:
     March 17 - Wednesday
     Location:  West Valley Junior High
     Chair:  Ron Gerhardstein

Small Schools Festival:
     Date and Chair to be found out by John Straehle
     Location:  Trout Lake

Large Group High School Instrumental Contest:
     March 9 - Tuesday
     Location:  Davis High School
     Chair:  Scott Goranson
     We will revisit at Fall Meeting
     We will discuss adjudicator forms then, too.

Large Group High School Choral Contest:
     April 14 - Wednesday
     Location:  Tabled until Fall Meeting
     Chair:  Tabled until Fall Meeting

Middle School Choral Contest:
     April 15 - Thursday
     Location:  Tabled until Fall Meeting
     Chair:  Tabled until Fall Meeting
